Even though the recovery journey may be talked about as a whole, several important steps are involved when overcoming a drug or alcohol addiction. Each of these steps plays an essential role in solidifying and maintaining long-term sobriety.

One of these steps often includes living in a recovery residence where clients stay for an extended time in a structured, sober environment. Not only does this help in their transition from one recovery stage to the next, but it may also prevent a relapse from occurring in the long term.

Cross Area Service Program

At Pyramid Healthcare, we are thrilled to offer a residential treatment home for clients in need of additional support before they fully transition into life outside of treatment. Known as our Cross Area Service Program (CASP), we provide clients with monitored care as they continue to recover from substance use.

CASP welcomes males ages eighteen and older and ensures comprehensive care, a personalized treatment plan, and vocational support as they continue making their recovery their own. With access to a Peer Support Specialist, clients can seek help and support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Additionally, with certain expectations around the home, including household duties and activity planning, residents can begin to reestablish healthy routines to integrate into life long after residential treatment has concluded.

Who does CASP serve?

The Cross Area Service Program recovery residence accepts individuals from all stages of the recovery journey, including those who:

  • Have just completed detox but desire more treatment and support before returning home;
  • Have been hospitalized but no longer require intensive medical treatment;
  • Have completed residential or inpatient treatment programs and are looking for a temporary place to reside while continuing with counseling and rehab treatments.

Currently, CASP accepts individuals without insurance but cannot accept clients who require medically-assisted treatment.

What does CASP involve?

This residential treatment program includes 10 weeks of various benefits and treatment plans with the goal of providing residents with the skills and coping mechanisms needed to reenter normal life after time spent in substance abuse recovery.

Certain beneficial features of the program include:

  • Food – Healthy eating and meal prepping are crucial to recovery, and residents will learn the importance of nutrition and cooking for themselves;
  • Vocational development – Skills such as resume building and interviewing can help those who lost their jobs due to substance use (or never had a career) find and obtain something to their liking;
  • Transportation – For those still in treatment, transportation will be provided to promote and maintain recovery;
  • Coordination with primary medical care – Clients requiring medical attention can continue to receive care from their primary physician;
  • Community resources and events – Reintegrating into the community is essential to recovery, and access to local events can help life feel normal again;
  • Discharge planning – Having a plan for maintaining recovery post-treatment is crucial to long-term sobriety;
  • Additional supports – These may include medical or dental care and clothing if needed and available.

Additionally, residents have access to an on-site Peer Support Specialist. This team member can be a valuable asset to residents, helping them in various ways, including:

  • Advocating for those in recovery;
  • Helping residents set realistic goals;
  • Training patients on important life skills;
  • Educating family members and support people about addiction;
  • Developing programs and resources for addiction recovery;
  • Leading support groups;
  • Sharing their skills and stories with others.

With certified staff members, structured living environments, and support offered during and after residency, those who complete their time in a Cross Area Service Program are likely to feel more secure and confident in their sobriety and recovery.
