A Safe, Structured Environment for Men in Recovery

Designed exclusively for men participating in Pyramid Healthcare’s substance abuse comprehensive outpatient program (SACOT), River House offers a focused and supportive living environment. Located in Asheville, North Carolina, River House serves as a bridge between clinical care and independent living, giving clients the structure they need to heal, grow and prepare for life in recovery.

A Male-Only Residence for Accountability and Growth

Offering 13 beds and a tight-knit, male-only community, River House fosters a recovery-centered environment that emphasizes personal responsibility and peer support. All residents are actively engaged in PHP programming (30 hours/week, M–F 9–3:30) at a nearby Pyramid Healthcare location. This immersive schedule is designed to build critical coping skills while residents benefit from a sober, safe living arrangement.

Amenities Designed for Recovery and Wellness

River House goes beyond basic supportive housing by offering amenities that enhance both mental and physical well-being. Each resident has access to:

  • On-site gym equipment to encourage daily movement and physical fitness

  • Shared living spaces that promote community and accountability

  • A quiet, comfortable atmosphere ideal for reflection, connection and rest

  • Staff supervision available 24/7 for structure, guidance and crisis support

Real-World Support for Real-Life Recovery

River House residents are encouraged to work toward long-term goals with the support of our experienced staff. We provide:

  • Transportation to local 12-step meetings

  • Guidance on job searching and resume building

  • Meal support with nutritious, chef-prepared lunches and dinners and a continental breakfast each day

  • Transportation for court appearances and medical appointments, as needed

This hands-on assistance ensures clients stay focused on recovery while addressing the real-life responsibilities that come with rebuilding a healthy lifestyle.

MAT-Friendly and Recovery-Focused

At River House, clients on medication-assisted treatment (MAT)—including methadone—are welcomed and supported as they engage in care. We believe recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Our home reflects a flexible and inclusive approach that meets people where they are.

Committed to Lifelong Recovery

As clients near the end of their SACOT programming, River House staff provide comprehensive aftercare planning to help ensure a smooth transition to the next phase of care. We are also available to coordinate offsite medical appointments and assist in maintaining ongoing treatment as needed.

While service animals are permitted, emotional support animals are not accepted at this time.

River House in Asheville, NC empowers men in recovery through structure, accountability and support—all within a community designed to strengthen the body and mind. If you’re seeking a safe, purpose-driven place to live while in SACOT care, River House offers the foundation you need to move forward with confidence.
