Comprehensive Care for Substance Use and Co-Occurring Disorders

Located in Kearneysville, West Virginia, the Pyramid Healthcare Mountaineer Detox & Residential Treatment Center provides a full continuum of care for men and women ages 18 and older struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our programs combine medical expertise, clinical support and compassionate care to help clients safely begin recovery and build a foundation for long-term wellness.

Levels of Care

The Mountaineer Detox & Residential Treatment Center offers multiple levels of care designed to meet each client’s needs at every stage of recovery:

Our medically supervised detox program provides 24/7 care for individuals withdrawing from alcohol, opioids, or other substances. Clients receive medical monitoring, withdrawal management and emotional support in a safe, structured environment to ensure stability before transitioning into the next phase of treatment.

Residential treatment provides round-the-clock clinical and therapeutic support in a recovery-focused setting. Clients participate in evidence-based therapies, relapse prevention planning and life skills training while addressing both substance use and mental health concerns. Programs are tailored to each client’s needs and typically range from 30 to 60 days, with flexible extensions available based on progress.

IOP offers structured therapy several days per week for clients who need continued clinical support while maintaining work, school or family commitments. Treatment includes group and individual therapy, relapse prevention and ongoing recovery education.

Outpatient care provides part-time therapy for individuals ready to transition from higher levels of treatment or for those with mild substance use symptoms. This flexible level of care helps clients reinforce coping skills and maintain accountability while living independently.

When appropriate, FDA-approved medications are combined with counseling and therapy to reduce cravings, manage withdrawal symptoms and lower relapse risk. MAT is available for individuals recovering from opioid or alcohol use disorders and is provided under close medical supervision.

An Integrated, Person-Centered Approach

Our care team includes licensed addiction therapists, physicians, nurses, social workers and peer recovery specialists. Together, they provide coordinated, evidence-based treatment that addresses the physical, emotional and psychological aspects of addiction.

Each client begins with a comprehensive assessment to determine the appropriate level of care and develop a personalized treatment plan. Our assessments meet all necessary standards, including court evaluations, referrals from healthcare providers and community-based assessments.
