Pyramid Healthcare, Inc. Expands into West Virginia with Strategic Acquisition of Mountaineer Recovery Center

ALTOONA, PA – February 1, 2024 – Pyramid Healthcare, Inc., a leading provider of behavioral healthcare services, announced the acquisition of Mountaineer Recovery Center in Kearneysville, West Virginia, marking its inaugural establishment in the state.

Founded in 1999, Pyramid Healthcare, Inc. is a leader in behavioral health care, operating over 80 treatment facilities and schools across nine states in the eastern United States. The latest expansion underscores Pyramid Healthcare’s unwavering commitment to delivering a comprehensive range of in-person and telehealth mental health, substance use and eating disorder treatment programs for adolescents and adults.

Mountaineer Recovery Center, founded in 2016, a regional leader in residential and outpatient substance use treatment for adults, will now operate under the Pyramid Healthcare, Inc. umbrella. The center’s integration into the Pyramid Healthcare family aims to enhance its existing reputation for delivering high-quality treatment services.

Located in the panhandle of West Virginia, southeast of Martinsburg, the new Pyramid Healthcare Mountaineer Residential and Outpatient Treatment Centers will offer level of care assessments, outpatient and intensive outpatient programs (ASAM levels 1 and 2.1), residential treatment programming (ASAM levels 3.5 and 3.1), medication-assisted treatment (MAT), life skills training and peer recovery support services for adult men and women. Services will be expanded in the near future to include withdrawal management (ASAM level 3.7).
