Pyramid Healthcare’s Detox and Residential Treatment Center in Newport News provides evidence-based and multidisciplinary treatment for men and women in search of meaningful, long-term recovery or mental and emotional stability.
In addition to evidence-based treatment, clients participate in scheduled groups, individual counseling and a variety of elective activities that support their transition to a sober lifestyle in a structured environment. Our non-hospital program in the Tidewater area provides medically-supervised services to individuals 24-hours, 7 days per week.
We are pleased to now offer 3.1 level of residential care. This level of care focuses on applying skills needed for recovery, such as relapse prevention and coping strategies. Services include peer support, licensed clinicians, transportation an on-site outpatient services.
Our Newport News detox and treatment center services the Virginia Peninsula, including the Tidewater region and parts of Hampton Roads. We are able to accept clients with all forms of Virginia Medicaid plans.

Peer Recovery Support Services
Pyramid Healthcare’s Peer Recovery Support Services provide intensive support for individuals impacted by co-occurring or primary substance use disorders. Access to Peer Recovery Support Services helps individuals maintain long-term recovery and increase their quality of life while reducing reoccurring treatment episodes and referrals to higher level of care.
What Peer Support Services include:
- Twice weekly Peer Recovery Specialist-led groups
- Biweekly individual Peer Recovery Specialist sessions
- Support with treatment goals and aftercare planning
- Life skills education and support
- Recovery support system building
- Continuous support throughout all levels of care
