Pharmacists Touted as Last Line of Defense Against Opioid Addiction
DEA top officials and Pennsylvania pharmacists met in Pittsburgh recently to address prescription opioid abuse in relation to heroin use and overdose deaths.
A collaborative effort between all health care providers is necessary to provide the best care possible for patients, as well as discover diversion, inefficiencies and increased opportunities. This meeting is an example of the potential collaboration that is available within our legal and healthcare systems to assist treatment providers and provide access and help to those in need.
