The Pyramid Healthcare Outpatient Treatment Center in Newport News, VA offers a full continuum of individualized, evidence-based treatment options specifically designed for adults struggling with substance use or co-occurring disorders.

Individuals who contact Pyramid Healthcare receive a timely evaluation appointment – often within 24-48 hours of the call.  During the initial assessment, our team gets to know each client so that we can provide a clinical recommendation for treatment as well as assistance in connecting the client to the services they need.

Pyramid Healthcare’s outpatient treatment team utilizes the Matrix Model of Addiction, an integrative approach that incorporates multiple treatment models into a schedule of individual, group and family therapy.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our PHP is designed for complex substance use disorders or co-occurring disorders that do not require 24-hour care. These may also be referred to as day programs as they are usually up to 6 hours per day. Partial hospitalization is not residential treatment. Similar to IOP and other levels of care, PHP can be a step up or step down depending on a client’s individual treatment needs.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Often a step-down after completion of a partial hospitalization (PHP) or residential program, this program meets 3 days per week and includes process psychotherapy, recovery skill-building and education.

Outpatient Services (OP)

Clients who demonstrate progress toward treatment goals often graduate to outpatient services to achieve sustained, long-term recovery.  This level of treatment includes weekly outpatient groups and/or individual therapy and support.

Peer Recovery Support

A Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) coaches clients on topics including developing local resources within the recovery community, enhancing self-management skills and providing outreach and engagement support.
